This part-thatched, 17th-century brick village inn (formerly the Earl Haig) boasts flagstone floors, exposed beams and an old bread oven. Two bar areas are divided (and warmed) by a large inglenook. The large front garden, with picnic benches, affords good views over the downs. Excellent home-cooked food can be ordered from two blackboards and well behaved children (and dogs) are welcome. This Ringwood pub is popular with walkers and locals.
